With over 20 years in the beauty industry and a background in counseling, I’m putting the therapy back into beauty therapy
The Heart Space Story
I love making people feel great about themselves.
So beauty therapy was a natural choice for me. I got qualified as a fresh faced 18 year old in Manchester, England and dove head first into my new career.
I traveled the world, working on cruise ship day spas, delivering 5 star treatments to wealthy globe trotters.
In 2011, I landed in Australia and fell in love with the country…and a charming musician (who’s now my husband).
Lucky me.
Living in Melbourne, I continued to work in beauty, but I was beginning to see some worrying issues in the industry.
A trend towards unrealistic beauty standards was driving women to favor fake over natural.
The industry was preying on the insecurities of women to increase their profits.
As workers, we were pushed to focus on imperfections in order to sell more products and book more treatments.
The clients were seen as dollar signs, rather than people. It didn’t feel right to me.
I fell away from the industry.
In 2019 I moved into aged care and support work, and gained my diploma is counseling. It was beautiful to be of service to those in need.
But my heart belongs to beauty therapy.
So when I fell pregnant in 2021, I knew I wanted to start a holistic beauty salon.
But it had to focus on making people feel great. Human connection had to be as important as brow shape, or product choice, or skin type. It had to be heart-centered.
In 2022 Heart Space Beauty Therapy was born.
A holistic and nurturing beauty salon nestled in the heart of Denmark Western Australia. I specialise in natural beauty treatments, heart centered service, and top notch banter.
